Wholeness Hangout MandalaWhat’s up with happiness? A Wholeness Hangout with Lian Brook-Tyler

My guest for the October 2015 Wholeness Hangout is Lian Brook-Tyler, founder of Born Happy and the Happy School. Together we will be exploring happiness. What is it? Where does it come from? And what the heck do we mean when we say that human beings are born happy? Not to mention, what do you do with that insight?

“According to the teaching of the Buddha, our notion of happiness may be the obstacle to our happiness. Because of that notion, we may remain unhappy for our entire lives. This is why it is so crucial to remove that notion of happiness, then you have the opportunity to open the door to true happiness, which already exists inside and around us.”

About Lian Brook-Tyler

Lian Brook-Tyler, Born HappyLian is a co-founder and the editor of the education platform Born Happy, a teacher at the revolutionary happiness course Happy School, and the host of the weekly top 10 iTunes rated happiness podcast The Born Happy Show.

Lian was lucky to have had an amazingly happy upbringing, bursting with love and adventure. And then an attack, in which she was beaten up and sexually assaulted, resulted in agonising facial pain. Before long, she was also suffering from massive panic attacks and anxiety.

That started a 15 year search for relief from her emotional and physical pain… she tried traditional medicine and then most types of self-help and woo that you can think of. Nothing helped.

Until she discovered the fundamental nature of happiness and then in an instant, her anxiety, fears, limitations, and even the chronic pain dropped away!

Her life is now ridiculously happy and her mission is to share the principles of happiness with the world, through her work with Born Happy.

Lian lives in cottage in England, with her husband, their two young children, and a double helping of ginger goodness: their cat Beatle and their dog Lazslo.

Her passions are baking, writing, hosting parties, making and drinking cocktails, and watching wonderful people wake up to a life without limits.
