What to Do When There’s Nothing to Do: The Practicality of Spiritual Principles

In today’s culture, we’re bombarded with “how to” messages: how to be more successful, how to have a more fulfilling life, how to make more money, and on and on. There’s a step-by-step plan for just about everything.

But what if as so many wise sages have told us, there is actually nothing to do? What if the key to living wisely and well is to stop trying to figure out our next steps? Then what do we … do?

Mary Schiller heard the latter question so often, she decided to try to answer it. Her first experiment in blending our step-by-step culture with spiritual “non-doing” is her book Mind Yoga: The simple solution to stress that you’ve never heard before. She designed a series of Mind Yoga “poses” that allow people to see our spiritual nature alongside the practical aspect of life. In late July 2016, she’s opening the Mind Yoga Academy. The classes will focus on the practical side of things — money, relationships, stress, and so forth — but will be founded on the leveraged power of a spiritual understanding.

About Mary Schiller

Mary Schiller is a survivor of domestic violence and rape who dealt with 30 years of PTSD. She tried every therapy and technique she could find–to no avail. In 2014, she had a nearly instantaneous healing from her symptoms when she looked in the direction of the Three Principles. As a Principles-based coach, Mary often uses her own story to teach people this simple truth: no matter how far away from mental health someone might seem, they’re really just one thought away from experiencing their innate well-being.
